I have been doing destination wedding photography since 2000 and have covered thousands of events. Here are some of my thoughts on having a destination wedding.

When your other half finally pops the question and pulls out the big rock you've been fantasizing about from the time you were a little girl and realize the importance of an engagement ring, it is time to make a decision as larger as saying yes or no.

Do you decide for a traditional, at-home wedding or do you prefer a more unique exotic event?

It seems that the out of the ordinary "away-from-home" option has become gradually more popular, and for good reasons.

As a destination wedding photographer, I have seen that destination weddings are quickly becoming the norm over more traditional, home base ceremonies. This does not mean that most brides around the globe are ignoring traditional religious ceremonies, quite the contrary, they are still having a religious ceremony but they make it even more special and memorable not only for themselves but for their guess as well by choosing an out-of-the-ordinary location.

Unlike a traditional weddings, a destination wedding lets you be perhaps more creative, original and free. A destination ceremony can take place with any number of guests, anywhere and any time, with or without shoes, in shorts or in a tuxedo, in a Hawaiian gown or a white prices like dress. The choice is yours and you are free to choose. It is perhaps this sense of freedom the most important factor that couples consider when deciding on whether or not to having a destination wedding.

As a destination wedding photographer a must say that I love shooting destination weddings because the relaxing atmosphere and the enchanting location sets the couples in such a magic mood that the photographs come out magnificent.
